Here at Craft Gins we love craft distillers who place a personal stamp on their gins. So when the opportunity came along at to have our very own custom made gin distilled by none other than Tarquin Leadbetter we didn’t think twice!
We have been stocking Tarquin’s superb gins for years at our independent spirits store in Hertfordshire and at the end of last year we started talking about creating a gin together, distilled by Tarquin in his flame fired copper pot stills Tamara and Senara at his micro-distillery in the village of St. Ervan in Cornwall.
After a number of lively debates over which botanicals should be used, we sourced lavender from the award winning Cadwell Farm near Hitchin in Hertfordshire, which Tarquin paired with blood oranges and a selection of his own botanicals including Devon violets grown in his back garden.
After distillation in his traditional flame fired copper pot still, our gin was cut down to a hearty strength of 42% with locally sourced naturally sweet spring water from the northern Cornish coast and bottled and waxed by hand.
The gin is wonderfully fresh and aromatic with the rich sweet lavender perfectly complementing the flavours of blood orange citrus fruits, earthy spices and dry pine. We are delighted to have it available for purchase here exclusively on Craft Gins.
